Ryoko's 3rd piece, "A Letter To My Hands"

Author's note:
First, I decided to write a letter to somebody. However, it was very difficult for me to choose who I would write to. Someone I respect, someone I love, someone I dislike......There are many people I want to write letters to actually. I was thinking about how I related to those people. To communicate with those who I have never met, like favorite singers, favorite actor, favorite anime characters, I use my hands by reading books, reading manga, using PC. To communicate with those who are close to me, I also use my hands, like shaking hands, high five, composing email. My hands are necessary to communicate with my precious people, and to relate with them. Then, I noticed that I had to say thank you to my hands. Therefore, I wrote a letter to my hands.
Thanks to Mark, I made this piece better.
Also, thanks to my hands, I am now composing this pieces.

"A LETTER TO MY HANDS"

Dear my hands

Hi,
This is the first time for me to write to you guys.

First of all, I want to say Thank you.
You always work for me. You wash dishes, wash my hair, push the buttons, type on the key board. and so on.
I cannot live without you!
Since you are clumsy, you are often injured. You cut yourself by paper etc.
Also, you are injured because I practice Japanese sword. It really looks painful.

My right hand, I really enjoy drawing pictures with you. I am still poor at drawing pictures. I hope I will be good at it together with you.
My left hand, I sometimes disliked you, because you did not move as I want, especially when I was playing the piano! But we overcame the difficulties a little. Now, I don’t play the piano so much, but I hope we can overcome any difficulties from now on.^^

When I was an elementary school student, you were so chapped in the winter. It was really painful and so ugly. To tell the truth, I really hated you guys. I really didn’t know why you guys were so weak. You have been recovered and you are fine now. I still don’t know the causes. But I have to say sorry for my blaming you. Because I was mischievous, you may have been tired. I’m really sorry for that.
You never complain about any of these. You are really kind! I love you!
I will try to care about you more from now on.
I hope we can build better relationships with each other.^^

Bye!

Ryoko's 2nd Piece "Twin" (poem)

Ryoko’s Second Piece, “Twin” (Poem)

Author’s note:

Have you ever teased twins saying “Clone!!” or “Copy!!”?
I am twin. I was born 7 minutes before my twin sister was born. We went to the same elementary school, junior high, high school and now we are in the same university. We like same anime or manga. We like same types of music. What we are interested in is same.
But everything is not completely same. There must be some differences even though they may be really tiny.
We are twin, but I have my own identity and so does my sister. Those tiny differences make us different from each other.
We, twins, are different from each other. So, every person is so much different from others. They have their own identities or personalities. We should respect them.
Thanks to Jun, Nozomi, and Mark, I developed this piece including this author’s note.

“Twin”

Almost same faces

small mouths, sleepy-looking eyes.....

Almost same interest

anime, Shinsengumi, Business.....

Almost same dislikes

vegetables, studying, playing sports.....

Tiny differences make big differences

Ryoko's first piece "The Death Of Heisuke Todo"

Author's Note

Oneof the people I respect the most is Heisuke Todo. I really like him. I even wish he was in this current world. He is not so famous as other people from Shinsengumi. I want many people to know him.
He died when he was about 23. His life was very short. But he did what he wanted to do.
He is known as a "Sakigake-sensi", which means people who never hesitate to go somewhere. As this shows, he was so brave.
Thanks to Jun, Shoto and Mark, I developed this piece.

The Death of Heisuke Todo

-----------------------------------
Heisuke Todo was amember of SHinsengumi. But he left and became a member of Goryoeji. Gryoeji had some troubles with Shinsengumi. And Shinsengumi tried to kill them.
----------------------

“I will go there!”

“No, you don’t!”

Heisuke knew that some members of Shinsengumi were there, but he was not able to stop going there.

“Leave me alone, I’ll go!”

The veins on his face stood out.

Heisuke heard that Ito was killed and he tried to carry him somewhere safe.
Ito was his boss and he respected him. They were from the same dojo, and they had been practicing Japanese swords together. Now Ito was Heisuke’s boss and was respected by Heisuke.
There was no way to stop Heisuke.

------------

“It is a pity that Heisuke, such a nice swordsman will be killed.”

Isami Kondo said in a low voice.

Isami Kondo did not want to kill Heisuke because he was a good swordsman, he was like his child or something to Isami. So, Isami told some members of Shinsengumi not to kill Heisuke.

No one said anything.
The sound of the wind echoed.

“Alright, I will not kill him. I will try to let him escape.”

Shinpachi broke the silence.
Shinpachi Nagakura, who was a friend with Heisuke got how Isami felt and knew what he should do.

------------------

Heisuke went with some members of Goryoeji.

“Hey, they finally came.”
“Yeah, so now we go and kill them.”

Some members of Shinsengumi wainting there saw Heisuke and other were there.

“Let’s go...”

They went to kill Goryoeji.

Heisuke and others drew their swords.
The number of members from Shinsengumi was much larger.
Some members of Goryoeji were dying and some already died.
Heisuke was injured but still alive.

Heisuke found Shinpachi Nagakura in the battle.

Shinpachi had made a path for escape, and he told it to Heisuke through the eye contact.

‘Ah, I know what Shinpachi is trying to do.Thanks for your kindness, but I won’t escape.’

Heisuke got it, but he ignored
it. He continued to fight.

The battle was to be end.

A lot of blood on Heisuke's face. It was contrast to his fair skin.

One enemy cut Heisuke down slantwise from his shoulder.

A sharp pain struck his back.

Vivid red blood spread out.

He turn around. He had his sword at the ready.

Blood was dribbling down from the wound.

He looked at the man vacantly.

He tried to make a pass.

His body lurched.

One of the Shinsengumi members found the chance and cut down Heisuke from the top of the head to the nose.

The blood spouted out. It stained the sky and rain of the blood fell.

It dropped onto the red camellia.

Which red is his blood? Which red is the camellia?

Like the camellia which has unstudied beauty, Heisuke lived.

Heisuke's life was short.
He was looking for the way that he had to go.
He was never misled by anyone. He went the way he believed.

Publishing - Just send me a Google Doc or other link!

Advice for Publishing:

1. Make sure you've had at least one other classmate give you feedback for revision and editing.

2. Send me a Google Doc link, and add me as an Editor. Other types of links are fine too. For example, if you want to add your voice or BGM, you can create a YouTube video.

3. Think about colors and how it will look as a published piece (font colors, size, background colors, images)

4. Send me an Author's Note that explains your theme and genre and your feelings about this piece. You can include things about what you tried to emphasize and what points you want to still improve in the piece, too. Inviting comments and reaction is a good thing to do too.

5. Feel free to keep updating or modifying your piece on Google Docs any time you like!
