Author's Note:

This is my 3rd piece, Short Letter to My Precious Families.
It has 3 letters to each 3 member of my family.
For me, it is difficult to speak my honest mind in a voice.
Moreover I felt I had lacked in communication with my family.
So, I decided to communicate my real intention through writing.

(First I wanted to write a will and testament as a letter, but it was gloomy in writing....)

Author's Note:

My 2nd piece is a translation of a Japanese picture book, Kon and Aki. I guess some of you have seen this picture book when you were a child. In my childhood, I also loved it and asked mother to read again and again.

For a picture book, of course, pictures are the most important contents. But I’m really sorry I couldn’t show the beautiful pictures with my translation. I could just upload the videos of telling Kon and Aki from Youtube, but they are grainy. If you have time, go to ICU library and borrow the picture book.So please watch it.  

In translating, it is difficult to translate Japanese onomatopoeic words into English natural expressions. After I finished  it, I was really made to realize I should have read more English sources and learned how to tell stories in English. It'll be the biggest reflective experience I gained through the 2nd publishing. If you find an unnatural expression, please feel free to tell me as a comment.

Author's Note:I was born and raised in Yamagata. Yamagata is a typical rural
countryside; there are few high buildings and the transportation system is
undeveloped, but there is beautiful scenery, kind people, and
delicious food. I love my hometown.

However when I came to Tokyo, I noticed most people knew the presence
of Yamagata prefecture, but they knew almost nothing about Yamagata
except cherries. So I thought it would be a good opportunity to let
people know more about my hometown and I decided to write about it.

This is just one part of Yamagata. I want you to visit, see, and eat
actually, to experience Yamagata by yourself. I hope this guide can
make you more interested in my hometown.
